The Department of Veterans Affairs through Network Contracting Office 17 is seeking market research responses for a portable sterile storage cabinet to be installed at the West Texas VA Health Care System in Big Spring, Texas. The cabinet must maintain a temperature range of 66°F to 72°F and humidity of 20% to 60% while sustaining positive pressure and providing at least 10 air changes per hour with HEPA filtration. The unit must be constructed of hospital-grade 304 stainless steel, feature five adjustable pull-out shelves with minimum dimensions of 27.75 inches wide by 18 inches deep, and include a see-through glass door, casters for mobility, a steam humidification system with a 2.8-liter front-accessible reservoir, UV-C lights, and a ceiling exhaust kit. It must have an onboard digital control system with real-time monitoring of temperature, humidity, and pressure status, integrated alarms, and the ability to interface with the VA’s environmental monitoring network. The equipment must be similar in design to the Air Innovations SSC 4500 model and meet or exceed VA Directive 1116(2). Vendors are required to provide on-site installation and same-day training for sterile processing, operating room, DPU, and biomedical staff. Along with the unit, manufacturers must deliver complete printed and electronic versions of operator manuals, service manuals, electronic schematics, troubleshooting guides, and parts lists covering all components including non-vendor items.
