No solicitation exists at this time; therefore, no request for a solicitation will be answered. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS), is conducting market research to identify qualified and capable sources (SDVOSB, VOSB, Small Business, and Large Business) that can provide a brand name or equivalent Distribution Systems International, Inc. (DSI) Modumax/Moducore - Custom Supply Storage System that meets the salient characteristics and performance requirements listed below. VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) SCOPE OF WORK AND GENERAL DESCRIPTION Distribution Systems International, Inc. (DSI) Modumax/Moducore - Custom Supply Storage System Introduction Pittsburgh s supply room for the Operating Room will be moving locations, and the complete conversion from current wire track shelving to a Custom High Density Basket System. This will consolidate all Operating Room supply inventory into the Center Core for proper storage. The contractor shall complete turnkey installation and assembly. The contractor shall coordinate delivery, unload, and stage equipment upon arrival. The contractor shall provide training and demonstration of the systems used by VA employees. System Configuration & Compatibility Modular storage system designed specifically for perioperative and procedural supply management. Fully compatible with Operating Room clean central core, sub sterile, and supply room workflows. Must integrate with existing VAPHS storage layouts without structural modification. Construction & Materials Frame and shelving constructed of medical grade, corrosion resistant steel or anodized aluminum suitable for high humidity and high turnover Operating Room settings. All components must withstand frequent cleaning with VA approved disinfectants. Smooth, non porous surfaces that comply with infection prevention standards. Shelving & Storage Functionality Adjustable modular shelving that supports customizable bin/supply arrangements. Weight capacity is sufficient for heavy Operating Room supply loads (implant trays, sterile instrument sets, etc.). Shelves must allow airflow to support sterile storage requirements. Optional accessories (dividers, bins, labeling rails) must be compatible with the system. Mobility & Stability Mobile units must include medical grade locking casters that provide stability during use. Carts must maneuver safely in Operating Room corridors and storage areas without tipping. Dimensional Requirements: Units must fit within the existing Operating Room core footprint, including doorways, alcoves, and designated storage zones (blueprint attachment). Height must permit safe access by nursing and sterile processing personnel. System Dimensions (custom system shall be built): Height must be between 73 (inches) and 73.25 (inches). Pull out components must have safety stops to prevent tipping or accidental release. Durability & Longevity Minimum expected service life: 10 years under continuous Operating Room usage. Manufacturer must provide warranty and maintenance support consistent with industry standards. Assembly & Installation Must be installed without structural modification to walls, floors, or Operating Room infrastructure. The Contractor must provide on site installation, configuration, and system testing. System must be fully operational upon implementation. Documentation & Support The Contractor must supply assembly instructions, maintenance recommendations, and replacement part lists. Availability of replacement parts must be guaranteed for the life of the product. Contractor must provide staff orientation/training on system use and configuration.
