The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VISN 2 South), plans to award a short-term, sole-source, firm fixed price contract to Quidel Corporation for the period of July 1, 2020 through September 30, 2020. This interim contract will provide reagents, consumables, and supplies necessary to produce cost-per-reportable results, as well as support the use of contractor-owned equipment currently at VISN 2 South Medical Centers. The equipment and materials will be used by VA personnel to perform patient troponin and CK-MB testing. This contract follows the expiration of the previous agreement with Quidel Corporation on June 30, 2020 and is designed to maintain testing services until a new long-term Federal Supply Schedule Blanket Purchase Agreement (FSS-BPA) is fully implemented. This acquisition is made under FAR Subpart 6.302-1 as a sole-source award and falls under NAICS code 325413, with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees. No competitive proposals will be solicited, and the notice does not constitute a solicitation for competitors. However, any voluntary information provided by interested parties by June 10, 2020 will be considered for future procurement source determinations, though the government will not compensate for such submissions.
