66 -- Aerodynamic Particle Sizer and Accessories

This notice is for informational purposes only. This is a notice of intent to negotiate a sole-source purchase with TSI, 500 Cardigan Road, P.O. Box 64394, St Paul, MN, 55164. The TSI aerodynamic Particle Sizer (APS) model has the following: 1) Measures the aerodynamic time-of-flight of individual particles in an accelerating flow field with a single high-speed timing processor in real-time; 2) Utilizes a pateneted double-crested optical system to detect particle coincidence and poor signals (US Paten No. 5,561,515); 3) Dete particles in the range of 0.37 to 20 micrometers, and provides high-resolution aerodynamic sizing in the 0.5 to 20 micrometer range; 4) records a measurement of relative light scattering intensity for each particle.; 5) Measures aerodynamic diameter, concentration and light-scattering intensity of single particles in real-time. The required equipment is needed to compliment other TSI, Inc. units is use by NIOSH. This is a Simplified Acquisition with an estimated vlaue of less than $1000,000.00
