The Department of Veterans Affairs, James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, New York, plans to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to Innovive, Inc. for a one-year period to supply compatible disposable rodent cages for their existing Innorack® caging system. This contract is justified under the authority that only Innovive can provide these specific cages that meet the agency’s requirements due to their unique compatibility with the Innorack® Full Cage Rack System currently used at the facility. The contract includes the supply of both mouse and rat cages made from 100% PET, BPA-free and recyclable materials, designed with high-precision dual HEPA filtration for containment and quarantine needs, and featuring options such as autowatering and pre-filled water bottles to suit various research protocols. The Bronx VAMC requires these Innovive Disposable Rodent Cages during renovation of their Veterinary Medical Unit, ensuring continuity and consistency in animal housing within their ventilated caging system. The mouse cages accommodate up to five animals, while the rat cages accommodate up to two, each designed to fit precisely in the Innorack® setup. Interested parties may submit capabilities statements by a specified deadline, but the government intends to negotiate solely with Innovive if no viable responses are received. The point of contact is the Contract Specialist at the VA, and the contract will be performed on-site at the Bronx VAMC location. No competitive quotes or solicitations will be issued, underscoring the sole source nature of this procurement.
