66 -- Laboratory Supplies and Services

In response to solicitation SP0200-03-R-5006, Manufacturer Direct Pilot Demonstration, DSCP intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Quantity/Indefinite Delivery Type Contract to Abbott Laboratories for supplies and services to support Abbott Laboratories testing systems employed at Healthcare Facilities. Abbott Laboratories is the only known source to provide supplies and services that are specifically configured to support their laboratory equipment and these products are not distributed by third party distributors. The purpose of establishing this contract is to conduct a DSCP Electronic Catalog (ECAT) Pilot Demonstration Project to provide manufacturer direct product lines. All procurement transactions will be transmitted electronically through the ECAT with the use of the Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX). The resultant contract will contain a six-month base period and one six-month option period for a potential one-year contract.
