66--MicroXRF Geochemistry Sensor for attachment to Geotek MSCL-XZ II System

The U.S. Geological Survey intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Geotek Limited for a micro-XRF geochemistry sensor designed to integrate directly with its existing Geotek MSCL-XZ II core logging system, known as JHAWS, located at the GMEG Science Center in Moffett Field, California. This acquisition is conducted under FAR Part 12 as a commercial item procurement, with Geotek identified as the only source capable of providing a sensor that meets the mission-critical technical specifications, including elemental detection from aluminum to uranium, spectral resolution of at least 133 eV at Mn-Kα, precise stage movement of 0.5 mm down-core and 5 mm cross-core, and operation within a helium-flushed measurement cell to ensure accurate low-energy element analysis.
