The government plans to award a sole source purchase order for Ellason Weather Radar (EWR) Systems and related components without full and open competition. This procurement is being made under Subpart 6.302-1 (a)(2)(ii), as Ellason EWR Corp. is the sole manufacturer and authorized distributor of the required equipment, making them the only responsible source capable of fulfilling the agency’s needs. The 55th Contracting Squadron at Offutt Air Force Base intends to proceed with this acquisition to ensure timely delivery and support critical mission requirements. This notice, issued on May 9, 2008, is not a solicitation for competitive proposals but rather an announcement of intent to award a purchase order directly to Ellason EWR Corp. Interested parties or those with questions are directed to contact A1C Austin DeRose via email or fax. The contracting officer overseeing this procurement is Andrew L Peterson. The effort falls under NAICS code 334519 and is managed by the Department of Defense at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. The urgency to secure this specialized weather radar system highlights the government’s need to maintain operational readiness with trusted, proven technology unique to the sole provider.
