The Government intends to procure products exclusively from the brand Tecniplast to house rodents and fish in the Vivarium of the new Basic Science Research Building at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. This limitation to the brand is due to the need to relocate and reuse existing equipment, maintain consistency in animal housing, and avoid operational errors that could jeopardize the animals' welfare by changing rack and cage types. The procurement will be a 100% Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside, following simplified acquisition procedures for commercial items under the relevant federal regulations. The notice serves as an advisory for interested vendors to submit non-binding statements of interest along with supporting documentation demonstrating their capability to meet the requirements, though this is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with a sole-source acquisition for the Tecniplast brand. Submissions were to be sent by June 15, 2018, to a designated government contact. The contract, identified by solicitation number 36C26118Q9197, falls under NAICS code 339999 and is managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Network Contract Office in Mather, California.
