Full Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Foodborne, Bacterial and Mycotic Disease, Enteric Disease Laboratory, intends to award on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Bio-Rad, Marnes La Coquete, France. The purchase is for thermacyclers. Delivery will be required within thirty (30) days after receipt of the award. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302-1, the Government has determined that Bio-Rad is the only responsible source who can satisfy the agency requirement because they are the only company who can provide the DNA Engine Platform. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the requirement are encouraged to identify themselves and provide written notification to the Contracting Officer within fifteen (15) days from the date of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
