The Department of Defense, through Navsup Weapon Systems Support, is seeking the procurement of 52 Air Data Transducers under NSN 7R-6610-011318697-LU. Due to the lack of available technical data, government data rights, or manufacturing knowledge, the government intends to solicit and negotiate with a single source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The items must be acquired from or repaired by sources specified on a source control or selected item drawing as defined by DoD-STD-100, and delivery is designated as FOB Origin. While this notice is not a formal request for competitive proposals, the government will consider proposals, quotations, or capability statements from responsible sources within 45 days of publication, or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement. Market research indicates that FAR Part 12 policies for commercial items will not be used, although interested parties may notify the contracting officer of a commercial alternative within 15 days. The final determination to compete the contract remains at the sole discretion of the government.
