66 -- Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) Deposition System

The Naval Research Laboratory intends to award a contract to AJA International, Incorporated for the provision of an ultra-high vacuum (UHV) deposition system designed for the growth of epitaxial films of multifunctional magnetic materials. This system must meet specific technical requirements, including the ability to be bakeable up to 200°C, magnetron sources equipped with remote, in-situ control of position and angle without breaking vacuum, and a substrate manipulator compatible with existing Riber style molecular beam epitaxy sample holders. Additionally, the substrate manipulator must enable heating up to 750°C in a pure oxygen environment and facilitate continuous azimuthal rotation alongside linear motion. The contract will be awarded on a basis other than full and open competition, with a required delivery timeframe of no later than sixteen weeks following contract award.
