Letter of Intent for Brand Name Justification and Approval It is the intent of the National Regional Capital Contracting Command (NCRCC) to make a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order award for several D300 Nikon Cameras and assorted attachments to include the charging devises. The reason for this Name Brand procurement is based on FAR 11-105(a) (1). The particular brand name product is essential to the Government requirements, because of; standardization and compatibility issues related to the provisioning of parts and service for this current procurement and existing stock level of the D300 Nikon cameras and accessories. Market Research indicates that similar cameras and accessories do not meet, or cannot be modified to meet the Storage and Distribution Center needs without a substantial duplication of costs and insurmountable delays related to the repair and maintability of non-standard cameras and accessories. The inherent characteristics that the Nikon D300 performs are essential to the processes of accountability, identification, and verification of conditions, and with the documentation of certain processes at CDR PERSCOM Storage and Distribution Center. The Nikon D300 has aided in digital photographic processes that cannot be matched by other competitors product. The Storage Center is highly satisfied with the quality, customer support, availability and maintainability of the Nikon D300 cameras along with its supporting equipment. The accessories being procured with this camera have been used extensively and maintain a reliability record which the storage facility is very comfortable with. Research into other cameras and compatible accessories has indicated a certain degree of reliability the customer feels does not warrant the extra expenditures for on non standard parts for the cameras and attachments.
