NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 16 (NCO 16) intends to award a sole source contract award to SIEMENS HEALTHCARE 115 NORWOOD PARK SOUTH NORWOOD, MA 02062-4633. The Period of Performance for Contract Award will be one (1) twelve (12) month period. This requirement is for the HCV LIPA assay ver. 2.0 can be utilized with this instrument for said testing. Siemens Healthcare Diagnostic is the only company providing the HCV LIPA Assay ver. 2.0 kits fulfill the Auto Blot 3000 requirement. HCV Genotype LIPA Assay version 2.0 and Versant HCV Amplification kits needed to perform the HCV Genotyping test. These reagents are currently and have been in use daily at VA Medical Center, 2002 Holcombe BLVD, Houston, TX 77030. The only manufacturer that can provide the required HCV Genotyping kit (LIPA Assay ver. 2.0) as well as the Versant HCV Amplification Kit is Siemens Healthcare Diagnostic - Sole Proprietary. Siemens Healthcare Diagnostic is the only available source for this service. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award. Responses are due by October 19th, 2013, 12:00 p.m. (CST). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to contact@example.gov.
