69--Pronto4 System Upgrade

INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE CONTRACTS TO KAIROS AUTONOMI, INC. FOR UPGRADE ON EXISTING SYSTEM. The U.S. Mission & Installation Contracting Command (formerly Army Contracting Agency), Directorate of Contracting, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 6.302-1) with KAIROS AUTONOMI, Inc., 508 W 8360 S. Sandy, UT 84070-0000. KAIROS manufactures and sells the Pronto4 Strap-on Autonomy System and its related software. The Pronto4 system, P/N: KA100-02, converts most ground vehicles or surfaces vessels into optionally unmanned systems in about four hours. Suitable for tele-operation or semi-autonomous operations, the base Pronto4 Series 3 system includes a single enclosure system with transmission, brake and throttle actuation, as well as a CPU; a mechanical interchange configuration; axis movement linkages; steering actuation; video annotation; video MUX; all required interconnect cables; a pre-loaded software suite; and users manual. KAIROS is the sole source/proprietary manufacturer and seller of the Pronto4 hardware system and related software. All Pronto4 systems provided to the government are interchangeable with Govt.-owned Pronto4 systems and no third-party can provide the same Pronto4 hardware and software, or perform hardware or software updates on existing Pronto4 systems. Contractor shall upgrade two (2) existing government owned Pronto 4, Series II Strap-on Autonomy Systems to the Series III generation hardware and software by providing enhancements/modifications to the existing systems. The upgrade will consist of the following: One Pronto4 Series 3 System Refurbish/Update P/N: KA100-02, Pronto4 Series 3 System P/N: KA200-01, SVCC Radio Subsystem P/N: KA202-01, Wheel Odometry Subsystem P/N: KA203-01, INU Localization Subsystem P/N: KA208-01-03, Video Cable with one 8 foot Pigtail P/N: KA209-01-05, E-stop Cabling Solid State Hard Drive Option P/N: KA222-01, One Solid State Hard Drive Total: 2ea Pronto4 System and 2ea Solid State Hard Drive The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 336399, and the size standard is 750 employees.
