Brand name Justification is below: BRAND NAME DOCUMENTATION (For Under $100K) 1. Identify the DISA activity acquiring the product or service and the geographical area. USAFE CSS/SCML, Germany 2. Describe the supplies and/or services being procured. The items being procured are Eltek Energy Direct Current Rectifiers and associated supporting equipment including the following: thirty (30) amp circuit breakers, ten (10) amp circuit breakers, one (1) distribution chassis, and one (1) chassis cover to convert alternate current (AC) power to direct current (DC) power. 3. Provide the rationale, supporting the brand name acquisition. Justify the use of Brand Name only. The requested equipment is part of an ongoing MAJCOM-wide TCF Modernization Program and will be an extension of 20 previously purchased and installed pieces of equipment throughout the European theater. As such, award of another brand would result in substantial duplication of costs to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. These costs include re-engineering, re-certification, additional equipment for spare and retraining of Government personnel on newly acquired non-standard equipment. Therefore, the purchase of other brand equipment would add unforeseen costs to the overall TCF Upgrade Program. The Eltek product ensures consistency in the design, continuity of training, ease of use and interoperability.
