CREH proposes to rework 2-3A-1C (API 0402902619), part of UIC Project No. 08006009, in the Buena Vista field to repair holes in well 2-3A-1C’s casing. The Operator proposes to restore well 2-3A-1C’s mechanical integrity and prevent further deterioration by running 5 ½-inch inner casing to the top of the current liner, cementing the casing to surface, and performing post-remediation casing integrity testing to verify isolation of fluid flow between the wellbore and annulus. Temporary equipment such as pumps and return bins may be needed. Various mobile temporary equipment will be used including, but not limited to, workover rig, etc., and vehicles to transport personnel and materials to/from the site. No production facilities and no new ground surface disturbance will be associated with the reworks. Any waste materials will be properly disposed of in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The proposed project consists of the California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) approving a permit for California Resources Elk Hills, LLC to rework the well listed below, in the Buena Vista Oil Field.
