Aera Energy LLC is conducting a rework project for the Belridge III 7214HZL-3 water-flood injection well (API #0403028507) located in the South Belridge Oil Field of Kern County, California. The scope of work involves recovering damaged 4-1/2 inch casing, isolating casing holes between 85 and 140 feet, installing an uncemented tie-back string, and running injection tubing with a packer. The project may also include adding water-flood injection well perforations and requires the successful completion of an MIT-1 test. The operation is designed to maintain the well's original function, location, and capacity without any new construction or expansion. The project is overseen by the California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM), which issued a Notice of Exemption on July 31, 2025. This notice exempts the project from full environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), citing categorical exemptions for existing facilities, replacement projects, and minor land alterations. Because the project is a regulatory permit action rather than a standard procurement contract, there are no specified contract values, CLIN structures, or federal acquisition clauses.
