The shades must be fire-resistant, self-extinguishing, and non-toxic, with a melting point of 500 degrees Fahrenheit and combustion point of 977 degrees. They must follow the slope of the tower windows, be at least .125 mm thick, colored smoke gray with body dye, and include constant-tension rollers to prevent contact with glass surfaces. Only See-Thru Window Shades manufactured by Plastic View Inc. or an approved equal are acceptable; mini-blinds, opaque materials, or mesh fabrics are prohibited, and electric rollers are discouraged in favor of manual cords to ensure rapid operation and compatibility with light gun signaling. All shades must come with storage pockets and be installed in accordance with the Statement of Work.
