Chevron USA Inc. proposes to sidetrack 1 existing well to restore to original functionality. The work is designed to support continuation of oil and gas resource development in the area. A well sidetrack is a drilling and completions process of that utilizes an existing well conductor and wellbore to drill a new wellbore away from the original wellbore. Chevron has submitted CalGEM NOI’s requesting to sidetrack to a new bottom hole target using the existing wellbore. In the program Chevron requests to plug back the original wellbore and then initiate the sidetrack to the new bottom hole location. The new perforations will then occur in the new wellbore. The wells will then be returned to production utilizing existing pipeline and facilities production infrastructure.
