California Resources Elk Hills, LLC is authorized by the California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division to perform a rework of production well 387-1C (API #0402909656) located in the Buena Vista Hills Oilfield. The primary objective of this project is to address well integrity issues and remediate known casing holes to protect natural resources and the environment. The scope of work involves repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of the existing wellbore to maintain its original purpose and capacity without any new ground surface disturbance or additional construction. The project is estimated to take between 7 and 10 days to complete and will utilize temporary mobile equipment, including a workover rig, pumps, and return bins, as well as vehicles for personnel and material transport. All waste materials will be disposed of according to applicable laws and regulations. This project has been granted a Notice of Exemption from full environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act, as it falls under Group B of the CalGEM rework exemptions guidance and meets several categorical exemptions for existing facilities and minor land alterations.
