California Resources Elk Hills, LLC is undertaking a well rework operation on the existing 31-35B well (API #0402902050) located in the Buena Vista Hills Oilfield in Kern County, California, to address well integrity issues without expanding production capacity or disturbing additional ground surface. The project, which will take approximately seven to ten days to complete, involves the use of temporary equipment such as a workover rig, pumps, return bins, and support vehicles, all confined to the existing well pad. The regulatory approval authority resides with the California Department of Conservation’s Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM), which is responsible for oversight, inspection, and final acceptance of the work at its Bakersfield district office, with documentation also processed through the State Clearinghouse. The project was publicly noticed on August 26, 2025, and all related materials are accessible via the CEQA portal. The documentation reflects a regulatory exemption process rather than a federal procurement contract, with no FAR clauses, pricing data, payment instructions, contracting officer appointments, or socioeconomic certifications present.
