Crimson proposes to complete geotechnical testing with 36 auger or direct push borings from within the earthen drainages located within CALTRANS right of way along State Route (SR-)118 between Post Mile (PM) 7.75 and PM 7.96 in the City of Somis, Ventura County. Crimson is requesting a temporary encroachment permit to access Caltrans right-of-way along SR-118 between PM 7.75 and PM 7.96 to complete the above-mentioned work. All borings will be backfilled with bentonite grout, all soil cutting will be placed in drum for characterization and disposal. Excavation will have a maximum depth of 180-inches below grade or refusal, whichever comes first and a maximum width of 2.25-inches. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for the project.
