D-ILA Projector with native 1920x1080 D-ILA chips and wide angle 1:1 lens. The system will be used to support the VIRTE project sub task: investigate the applicability and feasibility of replacing CRT projection systems with advanced, low-cost, high-resolution digital projectors for both flat screen and dome display system requirements. The JVC DLA-HD2KU D-ILA projector with native 1920x1080 D-ILA chips and JVC GLM-2910U wide angle (1:1) ratio projection lens is the highest widescreen resolution projector available for low-cost projector applications. The JVC patented D-ILA chips are the most highly refined form of Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS), offering unique characteristics not found elsewhere (3-chip D-ILA w/1920x1080 pixels, 2000:1 contrast ratio, 16:9 aspect ratio, and optimum color reproduction). The JVC D-ILA projector is the only system that meets the VIRTE requirements
