Crimson Resource Management Corp. has received approval from the California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) to perform a well rework at the Unspecified 9-3 well (API #0402973374) located in the Midway-Sunset Oil Field in Kern County. The primary objective of this project is to restore fluid inflow into the wellbore to levels observed prior to the installation of a 5-1/2 inch slotted inner liner. The technical scope of work includes gun perforating the inner liner, performing a round trip scraper across the perforations, tagging for fill and cleanout as required, and preparing the well for production. The rework is estimated to be completed within two days during daylight hours. The project will utilize existing lease roads and service lines, requiring no modifications to the current infrastructure. Operational logistics involve the use of temporary equipment, including a workover rig, wireline truck, and vacuum truck, with produced water being hauled to the location via vacuum truck. Environmental management protocols are in place, including the use of self-contained toilets with weekly servicing and disposal at approved facilities, as well as the use of closed-top containers for garbage disposal at licensed facilities. This project has been granted a California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Notice of Exemption under several categories, including existing facilities and minor alterations, confirming that the rework is expected to have no significant environmental impact.
