Aera proposes to rework one existing oil and gas well, identified as API 0403042490 (Well Name DTR 544DR2-33), located in the South Belridge Oil Field within Kern County, California. The project involves adding perforations and returning the well to injection to continue resource development. The scope of work includes the reconstruction of the casing and wellbore, performing remedial, maintenance, and conversion work, and the installation or removal of downhole production or injection equipment, cement plugs, bridge plugs, and packers. All activities will be conducted on existing wellbores and well pads, resulting in negligible ground disturbance, vegetation removal, or expansion of existing pads. The California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) has issued a CEQA Notice of Exemption for this project, citing categorical exemptions for existing facilities, replacement or reconstruction, and minor land alterations. The project must comply with 14 CCR section 1684.1 and all statutory and regulatory provisions protecting public health, safety, and the environment.
