This is a total small business (SB) set aside . The agency seeks information from interested, eligible, and qualified small businesses for execution of this project. Proposals are being requested or accepted at this time. This is a solicitation, and a contract will be awarded based on this synopsis. Please see the notices below and follow the information on the SF1442.
THE PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:
The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision required to furnish and install cabling to reconnect the pedestrian blue call pole communication line between Buildings 3 and 6 to the VA system at 2121 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.
I. SPECIFIC:
To include:
- Remove the old cable that is being replaced.
- Install a new 25-pair CAT 3 cable from the OIT Telecommunication Room in the basement of Building 3 to the basement of Building 6, approximately 700 feet in length
- Terminate all pairs of the new cable at both ends, connecting to the existing 100-pair Building Entrance Protect in Building 3 and the 66-block in Building 6
- The cable pathway between buildings will use the existing duct bank, which includes multiple permitted confined-space underground access vaults for cable installation
- Firestopping material in the OIT Telecommunication Room must be removed to install the cable and then properly restored
- The period of performance is 60 days after signed notice to proceed.
