The contract involves the procurement of 114 units of thermal tape (NSN 1H-8030-015583243-X3, TDP VER 002) to be delivered to two Department of Defense locations: the DLA Distribution Center in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, and the DLA Distribution San Joaquin in Tracy, California. Adirondack Electronics Inc., based in Round Lake, New York, is the sole identified source for this acquisition. This notice of intent is not a solicitation for competitive bids but indicates that the Government plans to negotiate exclusively with this single source due to proprietary data restrictions and the uneconomical nature of reverse engineering the item. Interested parties are invited to express their interest or submit quotations prior to award, although the Government retains sole discretion on competition decisions. The Government has conducted market research and determined that acquisition policies for commercial items do not apply in this case. Rights to the necessary technical data are not available for acquisition from any other sources, preventing the authorization of multiple suppliers. Potential vendors can access relevant military and federal specifications online via the DoD’s ASSIST system or through the DOD Single Stock Point for additional information. The contracting office, located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, with PETER MASTERS as the point of contact, oversees this procurement process. All responses and quotes will be considered as part of the Government’s assessment of whether a competitive procurement is warranted.
