The Navy's Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk has announced the cancellation of a solicitation for Harpoon Booster Section Shipping Containers due to the lack of qualified offerors possessing the required Department of Transportation Performance-Oriented Packaging (POP) certification for the specified crate configuration. This certification is essential for technical acceptability under DOT regulations. The original solicitation, posted on April 10, 2025, was aimed at women-owned small businesses under NAICS code 332994, with a response deadline of March 6, 2025. The procurement was intended to result in a firm-fixed-price purchase order with a delivery deadline set for six weeks after award. A new solicitation will be issued to address ambiguities in the technical requirements, and interested parties can direct questions or concerns to the designated primary contact, Stevi Parker, via email. The contract is being pursued on behalf of the Navy Munitions Command Atlantic and is managed by the Department of Defense in Norfolk, Virginia.
