The USA Robert Morris Acquisition Center-Natick, supporting the U.S. Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command, intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Gentex Corporation for the procurement of between 6 and 17 Isolitters. These units are required for ongoing biological warfare testing and must provide comprehensive protection against liquid, vapor, and aerosol chemical and biological agents for both the interior environment and the exterior. Key technical specifications include eight glove ports, a medical equipment pass-through, IV and intubation portals, electrical connectivity for the ProPak monitor system, and the capacity to support approximately 225 pounds. The Isolitters must feature a camouflage exterior, light-colored inner flooring, windows, inner restraints, and supportive frame stays, while maintaining necessary airflow to a patient's respirator. This procurement is being conducted on a non-competitive basis because the contractor provides a unique design already deemed operationally suitable. While this notice is not a formal request for competitive proposals, the government will consider alternative proposals and evidence of protective capabilities submitted by June 10, 2002.
