87' Shafts Manufacture and Repair

This is a MARKET SURVEY / SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE, pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research). This is not a pre-solicitation notice or solicitation for proposals/quotations. REQUIREMENT: The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Surface Forces Logistics Center has a requirement for the manufacture and repair of propulsion shafts for the USCG 87' WPB class cutter (NSN: 2010-01-485-9175). The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, material, services, equipment, supplies, power, accessories, facilities and such other things as are necessary, except as otherwise specified in the solicitation, to (1) manufacture and (2) repair propulsion shafts, in accordance with the solicitation and attached specifications. All shafts will be manufactured or repaired in accordance with the specification entitled: USCG WPB-87 Specification Propulsion Shaft Purchase & Repair, P-243-00618 (05/2011), Revision A (8/6/2014). All manufacturing and testing will take place at the contractor's facility. The solicitation will be 100% set-aside for small business. Period of Performance: It is anticipated that one firm, fixed-price, requirements contract for one (1) base year and four (4) option years will be awarded for this requirement. Estimated quantities per year will be specified in the solicitation. The solicitation package will be available for downloading from FedBizOpps at www.fbo.gov on or about 12/03/2016. Be advised that this date is estimated at best, and it is the contractor's responsibility to check FedBizOpps regularly for release of the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS Code for this solicitation is 811310 (Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance), and the size standard for small business is $7.5M. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made for a small business set-aside.
