Contractor will provide white fertile chicken eggs. Chicken eggs are incubated to produce embryonated ten (10) day old chicken eggs which are used singularly and in conjunction with various tissue culture systems for the isolation of influenza viruses. The embryonated ten (10) day old chicken eggs provide a relatively inexpensive and reliable way to produce large quantities of viruses for identification and characterization, for storage of seed viruses, and for the shipment of working quantities of viruses to collaborating influenza reference centers. This procurement is issued on an unrestricted basis, and all responsible sources that meet the requirements of the solicitation (terms, conditions, specifications) may submit a proposal. The proposal will be available on or about April 10, 2003. The date specified for receipt of proposals will be approximately thirty (30) days after the solicitation issue date. All correspondence addressing this proposed procurement action must cite RFP 2003-N-00823. The solicitation will be issued electronically and posted via the Government Electronic Posting System (EPS) at www.eps.gov/. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their copy of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS code is 112310.
