AI Contract Overview
Solicitation FA468626QC011 is a 100% small business set-aside request for quote for the procurement and turnkey installation of 24 custom-fit, FAA-approved transparent plastic window shades for the Air Traffic Control Tower at Beale Air Force Base, California. The project involves the removal and disposal of legacy shades that have degraded since 2017, which currently pose a flight safety hazard due to solar glare. All materials and installation must comply with FAA Master Specification Section 12 25 12, FAA-E-2470b, and FAA Order 6480.7D. The contractor must provide a mandatory five-year commercial warranty covering manufacturer defects such as peeling, bubbling, and mechanical failure. The performance period for delivery and installation is scheduled between September 30, 2026, and November 30, 2026, with all work executed within specified operational safety windows. Award will be based on a lowest price technically acceptable approach, evaluating offerors on technical acceptability—including FAA compliance, authorized dealer status, and ability to meet the installation timeline—and price reasonableness. Technical submissions are limited to five pages. The contract is a firm-fixed-price arrangement consisting of two line items: one for hardware and materials and one for installation and warranty. Payment will be processed through the Wide Area WorkFlow system, and delivery is established as FOB Destination.
