NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the refurbishment services to restore the GSFC 24 inch hollow cathode gold sputtering target to like new condition as specified in drawing GD1490496 revD Au Engelhard fab mkt Fab Chg Per Each/Lot Freight Lot Charge WIth the following configuration: Normal Purity - 99.9900% Material Type - Target Material Shape - Rectangle Bonded - yes Outer length (nom) - 75.3980" Outer length plus - 0.0000" Outer length minus - 0.0001" Outer length mm (nom) - 1,965.9081 mm Outer width (nom) - 7.00000" Outer width plus - 0.00000" Outer width minus - 0.00010" Outer width mm (nom) - 177.79990 mm Thickness (nom) - 0.02500" Thickness plus - 0.00200" Thickness minus - 0.00200" NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Materion. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on July 14,2012. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
