The U.S. Army Research Office intends to enter into a sole source contract with ICX Technologies of Pittsburgh, PA, for the procurement of containerized enzyme sensors for chemical detection. This acquisition is being conducted under the simplified acquisition procedures of FAR part 13, as ICX Technologies developed the required products through a previous Small Business Innovative Research contract. The equipment is designated for use in the JPM-NBC-Contamination Avoidance for the Advanced Threat Operational Demonstration. The specific requirements include five Chemical Agent Detection Kits, twenty-four Nerve Agent Sensor Bags, twenty-four CAD kit samplers, twenty-four Agent Disclosure Spray kits, and four Bulk Agent Disclosure Sprays. While this is a notice of intent for a sole source award rather than a request for competitive proposals, interested firms may submit written documentation within three days of publication to demonstrate their ability to meet the government's requirements. The final decision to proceed with a competitive procurement remains at the sole discretion of the government.
