Length may change by as much as a factor of 5; diameter may change by as much as a factor of 4 during the impact event. It is preferable to gather data for projectile head velocity and tail velocity (2 radar systems may be required one from viewpoint of the gun one from behind the target). Radar will be used in an indoor ballistics range. Nominal range dimensions are 10x10x100 feet. Targets are most frequently placed within 30 feet of the gun.
