AI Contract Overview

The Federal Aviation Administration is issuing a notice of intent to award a single source contract to the incumbent vendor, N.E.T Federal, for high speed multiplexing equipment. This equipment is necessary to provide rerouting capabilities for telecommunication services transitioning from FAA owned Microwave Systems to FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure Microwave. The procurement aims to acquire equipment that integrates seamlessly with existing NAS baselined firmware and proprietary software of the FAA Bandwidth Manager network, with an anticipated supply period of six months. While the FAA intends to use an established GSA Schedule contract for this acquisition, it is conducting a market survey to determine if other vendors possess the required capabilities. Interested firms must submit a capability statement and a completed business declaration form by June 25, 2010, to challenge the single source determination. Submissions must include detailed equipment specifications and evidence of past performance on similar projects.
