The General Services Administration (GSA) announced a public meeting scheduled for April 21, 2005, to discuss efforts to improve agency performance through the reorganization and consolidation of the Federal Technology Service (FTS) and the Federal Supply Service (FSS). This initiative aims to enhance GSA’s ability to meet growing customer demands for quality acquisition services, simplify processes for industry contractors, and improve administrative efficiency by combining functions currently performed separately. The meeting will foster an open exchange of ideas without seeking consensus or formal recommendations and is part of a broader outreach to gather input from industry, GSA employees, and customers. The meeting will be held at the GSA Headquarters Auditorium in Washington, DC, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with participants invited to submit presentations limited to five minutes in length by April 18, 2005. Submissions will form the official record and will be posted online shortly after the event. Detailed arrangements, including accessibility accommodations and presentation guidelines, are provided to ensure inclusive participation. The reorganization is overseen by GSA leadership, with co-chairs from both services responsible for coordinating industry feedback. Interested parties can contact designated GSA officials for further information regarding logistics, content, and special needs.
