Due to interim guidance issued by the Secretary of the Army concerning attendance at conferences, the Regional Contracting Industry Day originally planned for November 14, 2012, has been postponed. The postponement follows the Department of the Army’s intent to develop a new, comprehensive directive on conference participation, with a rescheduled date to be announced once the policy is finalized. Despite this postponement, Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) training sessions for government personnel on November 14 and for vendors on November 15 will proceed as scheduled, with registration still open for both sessions. The contract is associated with the Department of Defense’s Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) located at Fort Bliss, Texas. Key contacts include Susan Jones, Small Business Specialist, and Derrick Hill, who can provide further information. The event is part of the broader Small Business outreach efforts under the solicitation number W911SGINDUSTRYOUTREACH. This adjustment reflects the Army’s ongoing efforts to balance compliance with updated policies while maintaining essential training opportunities for personnel and vendors.
