The Federal Aviation Administration issued a presolicitation announcement for a Tower Simulation System, specifically organizing an Industry Day 1 event held on May 1, 2007, in Arlington, Virginia. Due to high interest and limited venue capacity, attendance was restricted to a maximum of two representatives per vendor, all of whom were required to sign in upon arrival. This announcement served as a sources sought notification and did not constitute a request for proposal or a guarantee of procurement. The government explicitly stated it would not be liable for any costs incurred by vendors during the demonstration or proposal development process. All official updates regarding this procurement were managed through the FAA Contract Opportunities website.

*** REVISION I (04/26/2007: Due to a larger than expected response to the Industry Day 1 sources sought announcement and the inability to acquire a larger conference space in the time necessary, FAA is requiring that no more than two (2) representatives from each vendor attend Industry Day 1. FAA regrets that this limitation must be imposed but no other space is readily available to accommodate the number of attendees. In light of the short time frame, it is not required that vendors indicate which two individuals will attend unless those individuals haven't yet been identified to FAA. Please also note that all representatives from vendors must sign-in. As the due date for responding to the sources sought announcement has passed, no further letters/emails of intent to attend Industry Day 1 will be accepted. *** ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT: BACKGROUND: See the "Tower Simulation System - Sources Sought" announcement posted 4/12/07 and last revised 4/18/07 for information regarding this requirement and Industry Day 1. INDUSTRY DAY 1 INFORMATION: Date: Tuesday, May 1, 2007 Time: 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Eastern Time Location Address: MCR FEDERAL, LLC. 201 12th Street, South Suite 806 Arlington, VA 22202 Directions: See "Industry Day 1 Directions" attachment. Sign-In: Upon entering the conference room a representative from each vendor will be asked to sign an attendance sheet. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This announcement is not intended to guarantee procurement of these services, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contract. This is not a request for proposal. The Government is not liable for any costs incurred for the simulator demonstration or the development of a written proposal. Additionally, the Government is not liable for any costs associated with the preparation and submittal of inquiries or responses to this announcement and will not reimburse any firm for costs incurred responding to this public announcement or as a result of the Industry Days. Until further notice all updates and announcements related to this procurement will be communicated via the FAA Contract Opportunities website (http://faaco.faa.gov/index.cfm) which was used to post this announcement.
