The Navy Experimental Diving Unit (NEDU) in Panama City, FL, is seeking vendors to provide an Underwater Full Face Mask (FFM) to replace the current MK-24 model. The required FFM must be a commercial item that meets the operational needs of Special Operations Divers, including the capability for an underwater switchover between open circuit and closed circuit modes through a single maneuver. A cold water conversion kit is acceptable for operations below 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Vendors are asked to submit technical literature demonstrating how their FFM meets these requirements. Responses must be sent by email to the Contracting Officer, Chris Diehl, at [email hidden] no later than close of business on March 8, 2002. This request is for information only, with no solicitation available, and telephone inquiries are not accepted. The Navy reserves the right to procure multiple awards via simplified acquisition procedures based on the received technical submissions.
