A-10 Work Stand Set

SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis Notice Type: FA8224-16-STANDS 1. NOTICE: This is not a solicitation, but rather a Sources Sought to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. 1.1. The purpose of this sources sought is to conduct market research, and assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. In order to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement; the Government has proposed the North American Classification Systems (NAICS) Code 332710 -- Machine Shops, which has a corresponding size standard of 500 employees. 1.2 The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, HUBZONE, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The Government requests that interested parties respond to this notice, if applicable, and identify small business status with regards to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the potential teaming partners. 2. PROGRAM DETAILS: 2.1 The following information is provided to identify potential contractors who have the skills, experience, and knowledge required to successfully provide the described capability. The 309th Aircraft Maintenance Group, Engineering Support, Hill AFB, UT is reviewing options to procure the manufacturing and delivery of an A-10 work stand set. The stands will be used in to support paint operations on the A-10 Warthog. The work stand consists of several modular pieces that are assembled around the A-10. A more detailed description of manufacturing requirements needed is identified below. PART I. Fabrication (welding, machining, mechanical assemblies): Please describe in detail your capability to fabricate and assemble the A-10 Stands as required by Drawings A-10-12-001. Details should include: i. Welding capabilities (structural steel and aluminum) ii. Staff welding certifications Per AWS D1.1 & D1.2 iii. Machining capabilities (drilling, cutting, etc.) iv. Finishing (painting/coatings) v. Assembly capabilities vi. Weight test capabilities vii. Shipping oversized freight capabilities 2. Describe in detail your related experience in fabricating two similarly scoped projects as the A-10-12-001 Stands. Provide pictures detailing and documenting applicable projects? 3. Warranty: What kind of warranty would be typical of a project like this? 4. Delivery: What is the lead time you require after award of order? 5. Are you able to do assembly onsite at Hill AFB?
