The Government has issued an announcement for planning purposes indicating its intent to release a formal Request for Project Proposals (RPP) related to Ground Robotics research, specifically focusing on real-time information portrayal to dismounted small units. This announcement is not a solicitation for project proposals, nor will it result in a direct award. Instead, it serves as an advanced notification to the Robotics Technology Consortium and the broader industry about upcoming opportunities to participate in research and development projects under an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA). The OTA was initially established with one consortium, the Robotics Technology Consortium, following the Ground Robotics Industry Day held in January 2008. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense, with the office located at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey. The anticipated project awards will be made to members of the Robotics Technology Consortium based on proposals submitted through the forthcoming RPP. This effort falls under NAICS code 541330, which covers engineering services, and aims to enhance capabilities in ground robotics technology for military applications. This announcement underscores the Government's commitment to advancing research in support of small unit operations, providing industry members with early insight into future project opportunities.
