The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is planning to issue a sole source, firm fixed-price purchase order to Ocimum Biosolutions, LLC, the sole known provider of specific oligonucleotide arrays (Human 40K OciChip A+B set). These microarrays will be used for gene expression analysis related to an early life stress cohort study conducted in collaboration with Emory University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The study focuses on evaluating the functional genomic responses to psychosocial stress and their impact on HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) axis function, which is relevant to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) research due to the known association between HPA axis dysfunction and CFS. The procurement will be handled under FAR clauses allowing sole source acquisition, specifically FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2, and will utilize Simplified Acquisition Procedures without a formal solicitation, as no other providers can meet the agency’s requirements. While interested parties may express interest and demonstrate capability to fulfill the requirement, such information will only be considered for informational purposes. The designated point of contact for contractual queries is Beth West, reachable by email or phone.
