ABMS Equipment - Notice of Intent

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) intend to award a sole source Purchase Order to Federal Resources for the purchase of an Automated Breathing and Metabolic Simulator (ABMS) manufactured by MSI. This particular piece of equipment is highly specialized and is required for respirator testing. Ocenco manufactures an ABMS machine with similar technical specifications, however the MSI machine is required specifically to conduct testing alongside previously purchased Ocenco equipment. This order is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106(b). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive responses; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
