The contract pertains to an add-on to the existing sole source contract SPM750-01-D-9710 between the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) for logistics support and repair of Abrams Tanks and the Wolverine. This addition involves incorporating NSN 2530-01-347-7637, a specific spare part identified by part number 12346481 and CAGE code 7W356, with an estimated annual demand of 632 units. The add-on follows the terms of the original contract, which includes a three-year base period and four three-year option periods, not exceeding a total of fifteen years. Currently, the contract is in its third option period with three months remaining and one option period left. The acquisition is sole source to GDLS due to the proprietary nature of the supplies and restricted technical data, eliminating the issuance of a separate solicitation. The award decision will consider price, delivery, past performance, and other criteria as detailed in the solicitation, although price is a significant factor. Offers must be submitted in English and U.S. dollars. While the contract does not use commercial item acquisition policies, interested parties can express their interest and capability within 15 days of the notice. Origin inspection and acceptance will be conducted at the source. The procurement is subject to compliance with the Trade Agreements Act of 1979, and no specifications, plans, or drawings are available for this spare part. The announcement was made public on January 24, 2013, with contact details provided for further inquiries.
