Full Description

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: The main objective of this purchase is to buy detectors for inventorying of bat populations. Bats are very difficult to detect by several conventional methods such as visual observations, however they use echolocation for flying etc. Bat detectors can record the echo locations and determine which species of bats occur in an area. Utah BLM Field Offices will be able to use the bat detectors to determine species presence, status, locations and times observed and estimate populations with the correct statistical methods. Having this information is necessary as bats need to be analyzed for decisions, we make regarding land management. Also, to determine the effects of our management actions. BASIS FOR AWARD: This is a Small Business set-aside Award. Any questions or concerns regarding this award should be forwarded in writing via e-mail to the Contract Specialist, Mark Renforth at contact@example.gov.
