ADF&G Request for Information (RFI) - Creamers Field Barn Column Stabilization and Repair

The State of Alaska Department of Fish and Game is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) for the stabilization and repair of steel support columns at the Creamers Field Barn in Fairbanks, Alaska. The project focuses on the evaluation and repair of 4 inch and 6 inch steel support columns located in the East, West, and Pole barns. Qualified contractors are expected to perform visual and ultrasonic testing to assess structural integrity and section loss, replace deteriorated columns with structural steel pipe columns of the same diameter, and prepare and paint all remaining columns black. Because the site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the contractor must coordinate efforts with the Department of Fish and Game and the State Historic Preservation Office. Due to the presence of hazardous materials including asbestos, lead paint, and PCBs, the contractor must comply with all state and federal regulations and submit an OSHA-compliant work plan detailing safe work practices and exposure limits. The project is guided by the 2022 Condition Assessment and Maintenance Plan by Design Alaska. This RFI is for information gathering purposes and does not obligate the state to a purchase. Interested parties must submit a response by October 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM AKST to dfg.contracting@alaska.gov, stating their capability to perform the scope of work and their willingness to participate in a future competitive solicitation.
