The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source contract to The University of Georgia Research Foundation, Inc. to provide twelve months of remote access to the Advanced Photon Source/SER-CAT Beamtime. Spanning from September 1, 2016, through August 31, 2017, this procurement ensures continued access to the most advanced macromolecular crystallography technology in the United States. The decision for a sole source award is based on the existing user agreement and the specific training and familiarity CDC staff possess regarding the facility's robotic screening systems, hardware, and software. Classified under NAICS Code 541711, the contract is authorized under 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). While this notice serves as a posting of a sole source award rather than a request for competition, the agency allows other responsible sources to submit capabilities statements and pricing information to the Contracting Officer for consideration in future procurements. All potential vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management to be eligible for federal contracts.
