The Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing Loan Program, administered directly by the federal government through the Department of Energy, provides loans to support the production of advanced technology vehicles and their components. Eligible projects include the manufacturing of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles, as well as locomotives, aviation, hyperloop, and maritime vessels, including those used for offshore wind. Under the Inflation Reduction Act, which appropriated 3 billion dollars in credit subsidy, funding is specifically available for reequipping, expanding, or establishing domestic manufacturing facilities provided the resulting vehicles emit low or zero greenhouse gas exhaust emissions under all operational conditions. This active program is focused on the transportation sector and accepts applications on a rolling basis. Interested parties can apply for these loans to facilitate the growth of clean energy transportation infrastructure within the United States.
